Miro uses machine learning models along with your input to generate content on your Miro board. By choosing certain commands from the context menu, or providing input in the Command palette, Miro Assist can do things like generate images, remove an image’s background, generate sticky notes, and summarize content on sticky notes.
Currently, Miro Assist works on the following board objects:

How to use Miro Assist
There are several ways you can access Miro Assist: through the side panel, through the context menu, and through the Command palette. Options will vary depending on the method you use.
To use Miro Assist from the side panel, do the following:
- Click on the icon in the bottom-right corner.
- The Miro Assist side panel will open with some pre-loaded options, or you can type your own prompt.
For example, let’s say you’ve pasted some customer feedback from a spreadsheet into Miro and want to ask Miro Assist to help you prioritize what to focus on, and have it build a presentation for you based on that information.
In this example, we give it the following prompts:- Using Chat reply: What are the three most critical areas to focus on to reduce churn?
- Selecting Presentation: Create a presentation explaining what we can do to solve these customer concerns
Using the Miro Assist side panel to help structure board content
You can also select an object or objects for Miro Assist to perform certain tasks for you:
Object | Result |
Chat reply | Answers your prompt inside the Miro Assist panel |
Presentation | Makes a presentation based on your input |
Image | Creates an image based on your input |
Sticky Note | Create a series of sticky notes based on your input |
You can use Miro Assist to perform various tasks like, “summarize feedback from a retrospective and add five action items”, or “translate the selected object into German”. Anything that is prompted within the Miro Assist side panel can be transformed into things like sticky notes, images, presentations, and more as we continue to develop Miro Assist.
To use Miro Assist from the context menu, do the following:
- Select the object (i.e. stickie, image, card, mind map) you want help with.
- From the context menu, click the Miro Assist icon. The menu options you see will depend on the object you selected.
For example, if you want to remove the background from an image, click the image and the Assist tool will show the Remove background option. If you want to add similarly themed sticky notes, select a sticky note and the Assist tool will show an Add similar sticky notes option.
