Available for: Net new Enterprise plans
As part of our commitment to compliance, we have implemented a new Data Center Residency initiative. Data Center Residency gives you more choice and enables customers to store their content created within or submitted to our service in centers located in the United States.
What is Miro's US Data Center Residency?
All customer content (production data, backup data and metadata) is hosted in the EU by default. Miro provides a higher level of control and compliance over your company's data by ensuring all your customer content is hosted in Europe.
We understand that some customers may want to host their data in the United States. If you’re an Enterprise Plan customer and you would like your data to be hosted in the US, please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

Are there any Miro features or data that are not included as part of US Data Center Residency?
Some features and data are not in scope of US Data Center Residency:
- Customer Support - data you share with Customer support is currently hosted in the US, and enterprise customers receive support from agents in-region by default. However, due to operational reasons, there may be times when we need to provide support from a non-US region
- Third-Party Integrations - data you choose to share with Third-Party Integrations may be processed outside your region of choice, excepting the ones in scope
- Sub-processors - with the exception of Miro's hosting provider Amazon Web Services (AWS), which subprocesses data across regions including the US, data shared with other sub-processors is not included in US Data Center Residency and may be processed outside your region of choice. Please see our list of sub-processors for more information on locations where subprocessing takes place.
- Usage Data - usage data is not included in Data Center Residency
What else can I do to protect my data?
Securing your data is a top priority at Miro. All customer data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 protocol and at rest with AES 256 algorithm, for all Miro customers by default, regardless of their plan.
For Enterprise Plan customers, Miro offers an optional add-on called Enterprise Key Management (previously known as Data Governance), which gives customers centralized control over the encryption keys used to protect their data. This is a 100% cloud-based solution that allows you to revoke key access to your data at any time and monitor activity logs related to your encryption keys.
