The updated Miro board user interface has been rolled out to teams on all Miro plans.
Since the last board UI update, our product has significantly evolved and now supports robust workflows like meetings & workshops experience, and is widely used outside of product teams by users with varying degrees of familiarity with canvas-based tools. We have also grown our ecosystem and now offer dozens of apps and integrations both built in-house and by our partners.
That is why we have updated our board UI to:
- reduce the complexity and make core functionality more intuitive and delightful for our users
- improve discoverability of apps and integrations to empower our users to make the most of Miro
- make using Miro experience across various platforms and devices more consistent to accommodate the new requirements of hybrid work
Who has access to the updated board UI
All Miro users across all plans now have access to the updated board UI
What is new?
Collaboration toolbar
Key collaboration and facilitation features like timer and voting now have a more prominent entry point in the top right corner. It is also possible to re-order apps in the collaboration toolbar.
Communication toolbar
Easily invite people, and see who is already on the board to interact and collaborate with them using the refreshed communication toolbar.
Board settings
Search, feed notifications, and board settings are now grouped together in the board settings menu in the top left corner.
Overview bar
Overview bar with frames and comments lists makes it easier to interact with larger boards. It can be opened by clicking the icon in the bottom left corner of the board.
Undo / redo
Undo/redo commands are now a part of the main creation toolbar on the left side of the board.
Deprecated entry points
We deprecated:
- lifebuoy icon that triggered onboarding into several features (e.g. tables)
- cards panel
- entry point into screen sharing from the board UI
Screen sharing can still be accessed via Miro's native video chat app by users on Starter, Business, Consultant, and Enterprise plans.
Users across all Miro plans can also use Attention Management that offers a robust set of features for following what others do on the board and directing their attention, when needed. 'Follow' & 'Bring to me' functions are available to users on all plans, and 'Bring everyone to me' can be accessed by users on Education, Starter, Business, Consultant, and Enterprise plans.
