Soft quotas enable Company admins, and Billing admins, to set a soft limit on the number of Full (legacy), Collaborate, and Accelerate licenses that a given billing group can consume.
Soft quotas are a flexible and actionable way to manage licenses per billing group.
You can set soft quotas for licenses to manage license assignment for a billing group.
NOTE: A billing group can exceed its soft quota. The soft quota provides a mechanism and visual indicator for admins to manage consumption of licenses per type in their organizations.
Setting a soft quota for licenses in a billing group
As Company admin or Billing admin, you can set a soft quota for a billing group anytime.
- In Admin Console, go to Billing > Billing groups.

Create or edit a billing group:
- Click + Create billing group
- For an existing billing group, click the vertical three-dots on the right, then click Edit.
- Tick the box for any of the following license types:
- Add quota for Full licenses
- Add quota for Collaborate licenses
- Add quota for Accelerate licenses
- Input the number of licenses per type you want to assign to the billing group.
- (Optional) Add or update any other billing groups details. If you are creating a billing group, you must name the group.
- Click Save | Create billing group.
Monitoring soft quotas for billing groups
Company admins and Billing admins can monitor soft-quota consumption of licenses for billing groups. In Admin Console, go to Billing > Billing groups.
From the dashboard
The Billing groups dashboard shows the total ratio of licenses consumed and licenses available per type. To see billing groups with a soft quota, click Quota set. To see billing groups with a soft quota exceeded, click Quota exceeded.
From the billing group
Click any billing group to see more information about the license consumption for that group. The {Billing group name} view shows total licenses, and allocation of licenses per type. On the right, click {License}, to filter the billing group by license assignment.
Visual Indicators
- Green Bar: Indicates the billing group is within the assigned license limit.
- Red Bar and Warning Icon: Indicates the billing group has exceeded the assigned license limit.
