Using AI Sidekicks within intelligent templates
Certain intelligent templates include AI Sidekick buttons for generating ideas, creating next steps, or getting feedback or suggestions. You’ll find these buttons in relevant places near the content they’re meant to interact with within the templates.
Intelligent templates that include AI Sidekick buttons
At the time of publishing, current intelligent templates that feature AI Sidekick buttons include:
- Project review (where it appears as Product Leader)
- Product brief brainstorm (Product Leader)
- Start, Stop, Continue (where it appears as Agile Coach)
- Quick Retrospective (Agile Coach)
- Rose, Bud, Thorn (Agile Coach)
- Mad, Sad, Glad (Agile Coach)
- Learning Loop Retro (Agile Coach)
- 4 L’s Retrospective (Agile Coach)
- Go-To-Market Plan (where it appears as Product Marketer by our partner Product Marketing Alliance)
The Product Marketing Alliance (PMA) Sidekick, created in exclusive collaboration between Miro and the PMA community, gives you access to insights created by top product marketing professionals. Use it to help iterate and validate marketing strategies on your boards.
From the context menu you can use the PMA Sidekick to get feedback and suggestions on frames, sticky notes, or text content. The PMA Sidekick is also included in the Go-To-Market Plan template, available in the Template picker.
When using any of these templates, the AI Sidekick action button will automatically be included in the relevant location within the template—i.e., in the output frame (where the button is located, and the only frame that isn’t included in the input frames).
Using AI Sidekicks from the contextual menu
If you want to use AI Sidekicks on a board that wasn’t built with an intelligent template, you can access them through the contextual menu when you select relevant content.
To access AI Sidekicks from the contextual menu:
- Select frame, text, or sticky note content that you want to use within the AI Sidekick.
- Click on the Miro AI icon in the contextual menu.
- Select which action you’d like an AI Sidekick to perform. You can choose from Get feedback & suggestions to call on the Product Leader or Product Marketing Alliance, Generate ideas to call on a Product Leader, or Identify key themes or Suggest next steps to call on an Agile Coach.
AI Sidekicks can be accessed through the contextual menu - The AI Sidekick will immediately start reviewing the content you’ve selected and generate the relevant output.
How AI Sidekick buttons work
Once you’ve loaded an intelligent template onto your board, locate the AI Sidekick button. It will be included in an object on the board that specifies whether it’s acting from the perspective of a Product Leader, Agile Coach, or Product Marketing Alliance.

The AI Sidekick will analyze the relevant content on your board—including all frames of a template with the exception of the output frame.
If the AI Sidekick is designed to suggest actions, those items will be added to the board as Sticky Notes under a section for action items or added to the right of the template on the nearest available blank space on the board.

If the AI Sidekick is designed to provide feedback, comments will be added directly to your content. You can then review and address or resolve those comments.
Feedback is left in the form on comments directly on your board
