Updating your board information helps keep your boards organized and easy to find. Board information includes the name of your board, description, classification, owner, creation and modification dates, location, and options for changing the thumbnail.
Rename your board
The following procedure explains one method for renaming your board.
Follow these steps to rename your board:
- Click on the board title in the upper left toolbar.
The board title will become editable. - Type in the new board name.
- Hit enter or click elsewhere on the board.
Your have successfully saved your new board title.
Change your board thumbnail
The following procedure explains how to change your board's thumbnail from the board.
Follow these steps to change the board thumbnail:
- Click on the board thumbnail in the upper left toolbar, next to the board title.
A Select thumbnail dialog opens. - Click a new thumbnail image, upload one from your device, or select a board area to use as the thumbnail.
You have successfully updated the thumbnail and the dialog box closes.
View the board information card
If you have access rights, you can open the board information card to see the board owner, the date of creation, last changes, and which space the board is saved in. You can also delete and duplicate the board.
The board information card
The following procedure explains how to view the board information card.
Follow these steps to view the board information card:
- Click on the Main menu icon () in the upper left toolbar.
The Main menu opens. - Click on the Board menu item.
The Board submenu opens. - Click on Details.
You have successfully opened the board information card.
In order to easily find and identify your boards we recommend you:
- Create a unique title.
- Set a cover picture.
- Add a description.
- Add the board to a space.
Edit the board information card
Follow these steps to edit the board information card:
- Click the Main menu icon () in the top-left toolbar.
A menu will open. - Click the Board menu button.
The Board submenu will open. - Click the Details button.
The board information card will open. - Add the title and description.
- Add the board to a space by clicking No space.
- Select a preview area on the board. Select preview area is not supported in Safari.

Add a cover image to the board information card
There are multiple ways to add an image to your board information card: by selecting an icon Miro provides for you, by uploading your own image, or by selecting an area of the board.
Follow these steps to add a cover image to the board information card:
- To set a custom board thumbnail, open the board information card and click Change thumbnail.
The Select thumbnail dialog opens. - You have three options:
- Choose from the icons Miro provides.
- Upload your own image by clicking Upload. You can use jpg, jpeg, bmp, png, or gif files with a max file size of 30 MB (the size of the cover on the dashboard is 420x420 and 72dpi, the size of the preview within the board card is 210x210 and 72dpi).
- If you want to choose an area of your board for the thumbnail, click Select board area, then click and drag over the area of the board you wish to use.
