Set up information detection to automatically discover, classify, and protect sensitive information on your Miro boards, whether it's regulated personal data or business-critical information. Miro scans your boards on a regular cycle and applies labels to anything it detects, so you can review, classify, and protect it without searching manually.
The data discovery cycle runs at least once every hour and scans all board updates, including boards that were already scanned in a previous cycle.
✏️ To set up information detection, you must have the Sensitive Content Admin role. To request the Sensitive Content Admin role, contact your Company Admin.
Set up information detection
- Click your profile avatar, and then click Admin console.
- On the left sidebar, click Enterprise Guard, and then click Data discovery.
- On the Sensitive content detection tab, click Set up information detection.
- On the Detect privacy-related information step, select the privacy regulations you want to scan for, or select Select all, then click Next.
- On the Detect business-sensitive information step (Beta), select the categories of business information you want to protect, or select Select all, then click Enable [number] labels to finish.
Once you finish, the first scan starts automatically. Results are available after a few minutes or hours, depending on the number of boards in your organization. You can view results directly in the table on the Sensitive content detection tab, including the Last scanned status and the number of Boards matched for each label. For more information, see Data Discovery overview.
If you want to detect information unique to your organization instead of, or in addition to, these built-in categories, see Create a custom label.
