To locate specific content in Miro, the sidebar enables you to Quick Search by title or topic. Results appear under the search bar. For a comprehensive search with filters, on paid plans you can switch to Advanced Search.
Quick Search
You can access Quick Search anywhere in Miro. You can filter results by boards you own, and boards not owned by you. To apply more filters, use Advanced search.
From Home
From your Home dashboard, click the Quick Search bar, top-left, to activate search. The sidebar shows boards you have recently accessed. To search, type a title or topic.
Quick Search is available in the Home sidebar.
Your results populate under the Quick Search bar. Optionally, click Owner to filter boards not owned by you. Hover over any result to star that board, or click the vertical three-dots to access more options, including Rename, Share, Open in new tab, Board details and more.
To cancel your search, click Home.
From a Space or board
Inside a Space or from a board, the Home sidebar is available in a collapsed sidebar next to the Space or board sidebar. To access Quick Search from a Space or board sidebar, click the magnifying glass.
Access Quick Search from a Space or board inside the Space. The search is already filtered for content inside the Space.
TIP: Install Chrome Search Extension for Miro. You can type "Miro" in the browser address bar and press the Tab key. The extension enables a quick search for Miro boards immediately from the address bar.
Advanced Search
Advanced Search also returns content inside specific widgets, like Sticky notes, Formats, and comments, that match your search. Each result opens the respective board at that specific location.
From your Home sidebar, click the Quick Search bar. Then press Enter on your keyboard to switch to Advanced Search.
From a Space or board sidebar, click the magnifying glass.
You can optionally filter by Owner and Spaces. For any result, click the vertical three-dots to access an options menu. Or click the result to open that board or widget.
NOTE: Advanced Search is only available on paid plans, namely Starter, Business, and Enterprise. Business and Enterprise plans also enable organization-wide search results.
