Import Mural boards to Miro – Miro Help Center

Elevate your collaborative experience by seamlessly transferring your content from Mural to Miro.

⚠️ Editing imported content is one-way. Changes made in Miro will not sync back to Mural.

✏️ Mural boards under a Full or Free Restricted license can be migrated to Miro.

Import from Mural to Miro

Available for: Free, Starter, Business, Education, and Enterprise plans

✏️ Any user with edit access to both the Mural and Miro boards should be able to copy content from Mural and paste it into Miro.

Access the Mural board you wish to export.
Select all the content you wish to export to Miro using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + A (Windows) or Command + A (Mac).
Right-click on the selected content and choose Copy, or use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + C (Windows) or Command + C (Mac).
Open a new or existing Miro Board where you intend to import the content.
Right-click on the Miro Board and select Paste, or use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac).
Review the imported content and make any necessary adjustments. While Mural and Miro have similar functionalities, there still may be differences in styling and formatting options. Refer to How Mural objects appear in Miro for guidance.

Access the Mural boards you wish to export.
Click Download as, and save as PDF.
Open your Miro dashboard.
In the left-hand menu, select Import board, and then choose Mural.
In the modal that appears, either click Browse to open the file picker and select your PDF files, or drag and drop your PDFs into the modal.
Use the Choose project dropdown to select a specific project where your imported boards will be added. If you do not select a project, the boards will automatically be added to your Team.
Click on Create boards to start the import process.
A modal will appear to inform you that the boards are being imported. You will receive an email notification once the import is complete and your new Miro boards are ready.
While Mural and Miro have similar functionalities, there still may be differences in styling and formatting options. Refer to How Mural objects appear in Miro (Bulk import) for guidance.

While Mural and Miro offer similar functionalities, some differences may exist:

Miro Text boxes can accommodate up to 6,000 characters, including spaces. Any additional text will be cropped.
Circular sticky notes in Mural are migrated as square sticky notes in Miro.
Colors and opacity levels are mapped to their nearest matches.
Miro sticky notes do not support rotation, color palette adjustments, or text bulleting.

It is important to understand how the content is structured in Miro versus Mural for more efficient migration.
