Miro’s text search helps you quickly find, and replace, text on your board.
Access the Find function
You can access the Find function in two ways:
- Click the three dots (...) icon on the board menu, then navigate to the Edit submenu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Cmd + F (for Mac) or Ctrl + F (for Windows).
Finding Objects on a Board
To search for objects:
- Initiate the Find function using one of the methods above.
- Type your search term into the search field.
- A list of results will appear, including Miro widgets that contain your search term.
- Found objects will be highlighted on the board, while other content will be dimmed. The results are also listed below the search field.
- Click on any search result to navigate directly to that object on the board.
Replace text on the board
- Access Find. On your Board bar, click the vertical three-dots to open the board menu. Then go to Edit > Find. You can also use keyboard hotkeys: Cmd + F (Mac) or Ctrl + F (Windows).
- Click Replace.
- Type the text you want to find. The Replace tab expands down to show all results. Optionally, select a result to locate its position. You can also click the filter button, right of your find text, to filter results by type and match. For example, filter for text found in Sticky notes, matching the whole word.
- Type your replacement text.
- Click Replace to replace one result at a time, starting with the first. Or click Replace all if you want to replace all instances. Your found text is replaced.
TIP: To undo a replace all in one step, press Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows).
