Who can do it: Company Admins, Team Admins, Team Members
Bring your brand into Miro: colors, font hierarchy, tone and usage guidelines, logos, icons, and images, all organized into one or more themes for sub-brands, regional variations, or light and dark modes. Miro AI reads your brand and applies it to content your team creates by hand or generates with AI.
In Brand center, instruct Miro AI how to generate content using your brand themes, including tone of voice.
You can access Brand center from your Admin Console, or in Company settings under Account, depending on your plan.
This article describes how to manage, set up, and apply your brand in Miro using the Brand center.
Note: Admin click paths vary based on plan and admin role. Instructions in this article show possible click paths separated with a pipe ‘|' character. For example, "Go to Admin Console | Company settings".
Managing your Brand center
Everything you add in the Brand center, like themes, colors, fonts, guidelines, logos, and assets, is available to your whole organization, including all teams and boards.
All Visitors, Guests, and Team Members with edit access can use your branded themes, colors, fonts, and style on their boards.
Control who can manage your Brand center
Enterprise
Company admins can access and manage their organization's Brand center. They can also assign the Brand admin role to any member. The Brand admin can manage everything inside the Brand center and Branded Slide Layouts.
Only the Company admin and, if assigned, the Brand admin and Content admin, can manage the Brand center.
Business, Starter, and Education
By default, anyone in the organization can access and manage the Brand center. Admins can optionally restrict Brand center management to admins only.
Follow these steps:
- As an admin, go to Company settings.
- Under Account, click Brand.
- In the top-right, click Settings. The Permissions panel opens.
- Toggle Restrict brand management and slides publishing to admins to the on position (Business) Only Company admins can now manage the Brand center. (Starter, Education) Only Team admins can now manage the Brand center.
Themes
A theme groups a set of guidelines, logos, colors, typography styles, and asset folders. Use multiple themes for sub-brands, regional variations, or a light- and dark-mode pair.
Add a theme
- Go to Brand center.
- Click + Add theme, and give it a name.
- Build out the theme's guidelines, logos, colors, typography styles, and asset folders.
Note: Starter and Education plans enable you to create 1 theme. On Business or Enterprise, you can create unlimited themes.
Set a default theme
The default theme is what Miro AI and the AI Sidekick apply automatically when generating content.
- Go to Brand center.
- Click the three-dots next to the theme you want to set as default.
- Click Set as default.
Click the three-dots to set a brand theme as default.
NOTE: The default theme also sets your default font.
TIP: In Brand center, click any row to reorder your themes.
TIP: On a board, any user can select another theme at prompt if they do not want Miro AI to apply the default theme.
Setting up your brand
For all of the following procedures, go to Brand center in Admin Console | Company settings under Account, depending on your plan.
NOTE: Non-admin team members can manage Brand center only if Restrict Brand center management to admins only is toggled off (default). If you are unable to customize themes in Brand center, contact your Company admin, Brand admin, if assigned, or Team admin, depending on your plan.
Guidelines
Guidelines are text instructions that give context to Miro AI. For example, your tone of voice, or a rule like "title slides must always have a purple background."
Any theme in your Brand center enables you to write guidelines for how Miro AI generates on-brand content.
Miro AI uses any guideline you define to ensure AI-created content is on-brand.
- Open your theme, and go to Guidelines.
- Click + Add guideline, and give it a name. For example, "Tone of voice" or "Presentation guidelines".
- Type or paste your guideline text.
Logos
Miro AI uses your actual, uploaded logo instead of a generic placeholder logo when generating content. You can upload multiple logos and multiple file types per theme.
- Open your theme, and go to Logos.
- Click + Add logo, and upload your logo file.
In Brand center, add your brand logos under specific themes.
Colors
You can specify or upload a maximum of 50 colors per theme. You must use HEX format.
- Open your theme, and go to Colors.
- Click the plus (+) icon and enter the HEX color code and Color name.
- Customize the layout of your brand colors: Click Reorder, then drag the colors into your preferred configuration, and click Done.
- Click on a color to Edit or Delete it.
TIP: Give your colors descriptive names like "Primary background" and "Primary text color". Miro AI will implement the right colors faster with these descriptive names.
Typography styles
Define a font hierarchy for your theme. For example, distinct fonts, sizes, and decoration for titles, subtitles, and headings, similar to a typical design system.
- Open your theme, and go to Typography styles.
- Click + Add style.
- Choose a font, size, and decoration for the style.
In Brand center, add and organize your brand theme’s typography.
Fonts
Fonts live in their own tab, separate from Typography styles, so you can manage font files independently of where they're used.
You can upload fonts in the following formats at a max file size of 20 MB:
.oft.tff.woff-
.woff2
You can upload up to 4 variants per font, like regular, bold, italic, or bold italic.
NOTE: Only upload fonts you are licensed to use.
Follow these steps:
- Open your theme, and go to Fonts.
- Click + Add brand fonts.
- Click Upload to add the corresponding font file for each Font style variant. You'll see a Preview of the font after it's uploaded.
- If you are uploading fonts for the first time, then click Confirm and continue to accept terms and conditions.
- Click Save font.
- Next to the font name, hover over the pencil icon to Edit, or the trash icon to Delete.
Set a default font
Select your default theme. The body font style of your default theme is the default brand font.
Asset folders
Organize images and media your team can reuse, with descriptions Miro AI and your team can read.
Follow these steps:
- Open the theme, and go to Assets.
- Click + Add folder, and give it a name. For example, "Event photos".
- (Optional) Add a description to help Miro AI and your team understand what's in the folder.
- Click Create to create your asset folder.
- Click Add files to upload images and media to the folder.
In Brand center, create folders and organize brand assets.
Add your brand assets under specific themes in Brand center.
TIP: Assets you upload here also become browsable from the Images and Icons panel on the board. See Images and Icons. However, the top-level media search doesn't index file names from asset folders, so you'll need to browse or search from within that panel.
Applying your brand fonts and colors
After setting up your brand, you and your team can start to apply it to boards.

- Click on the styles icon. The styles panel opens.

How Miro AI and Sidekick use your brand
Miro AI reads your theme's guidelines, logos, colors, typography, and assets when generating content.
Sidekick automatically applies your organization's default theme to content you generate, but you can switch to a different theme, or turn theme application off, before you generate.
Follow these steps:
- In the Sidekick prompt box, click the plus (+) icon. The Sidekick menu opens.
- Click Brand themes.
- Do one of the following:
- To disable theme application, click the theme that has an active check mark. The theme is deselected for Sidekick application.
- To use another theme, click the theme you want to use. Your non-default theme is ready for Sidekick to apply.
NOTE: As an admin, the option to Create and edit themes is available in the Sidekick menu and opens Brand center in another tab. If you open the Brand center from Sidekick to edit a theme mid-prompt, your prompt isn't lost. Sidekick reads the updated theme automatically.
Frequently asked questions
When you export or copy boards that use brand fonts, the fonts aren't exported with the board. If you move boards that use brand fonts to an organization that doesn't have the font loaded in their Brand center at the time of copying, the fonts will revert to Open Sans. For this reason, brand fonts appear as Open Sans in Miroverse templates.
Yes, once your Brand center is set up, anyone with editing rights on your team's shared boards can access and use the brand colors and fonts. This includes Guests, and Visitors with edit access. This is great for workshops and meetings with people outside your team. They won't face any font issues, which often happens with tools that need specific fonts installed on your computer.
Starter and Education plans include 1 theme. Business and Enterprise plans include unlimited themes.
