Miro expects all users, developers, service providers and contributors, promoters, hosts, and attendees of Miro’s Services and Events to adhere to professional norms and to comply with applicable laws, regulations, terms, guidelines and these Content & Conduct Standards established to preserve the integrity of Miro Services and Events and the rights and interests of others. Miro Services and Events include: Miro’s Innovation Workspace, Miro Academy, Miro Community, Miro Marketplace, Miro Templates Library, Miroverse, our websites, developer tools, and APIs as well as Miro-related events (both virtually online and in-person). The Content & Conduct Standards apply to all activities and content in the context of Miro Services and Events.
Preserve the Integrity of Miro Services
- Access and Security: Do not disable, bypass, or interfere with any access restrictions, or conduct any security tests or scans on Miro Services.
- Credentials: Keep user login credentials confidential and do not share them with unauthorized third parties.
- Malicious Content: Do not upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful content to Miro’s Services nor share the same with Miro users.
- Spam and Unsolicited Ads: Do not spam or promote unauthorized business activities.
- Impersonation: Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or relationship with Miro or any third parties.
- Fraudulent Activity: Avoid engaging in misleading, fraudulent, illegal, or unethical behavior.
Respect the Rights and Interests of Users & Others
- Violence and Harm: Do not promote violence, threats, or endanger any individual or public safety.
- Illegal Content: Do not share or solicit illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content.
- Harassment and Discrimination: Do not engage in any form of harassment or discriminatory conduct, including offensive language or actions related to race, gender, sexuality, disability, age, religion, or nationality.
- Privacy and Intellectual Property: Respect the privacy and intellectual property of Miro and others. Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to Miro’s systems.
- Unauthorized Activities: Do not engage in activities that compromise Miro's Services and Events, or reputation, or that harm other users, or violate laws.
Report Violations
Disclaimer: The reporting mechanisms provided in these Content & Conduct Standards are not intended for reporting emergencies or (security) incidents, and are not meant to be used as a whistleblower channel. If you are experiencing or witnessing a potential crime or emergency, please contact your relevant authorities immediately (e.g., police, fire department, ambulance, etc).
Some of Miro services, including Miroverse, make use of automated scanning of content against certain prohibited terms or patterns to prevent unwanted content. In addition, you can help preserve the integrity of Miro Services and Events as well as the rights and interests of Miro and others by reporting a potential violation of our Content & Conduct Standards. Note that Miro and its personnel generally communicate in English.
- Miroverse: follow the in-service option and use the Report button or send an email to miroverse(at)miro.com.
- Miro Community: follow the in-service option and contact the Miro Community Team directly.
- Miro event: follow the contact options provided in the event invitation, on the event website or contact your Miro relationship contact directly.
- Other Miro services: submit an email at standardsviolation(at)miro.com along with your name and meaningful information, such as url/links, profile information and descriptions of the conduct or content, that help Miro to identify and address the potential violation.
Miro will treat every report as submitted in good faith. Our internal team will review and verify a reported potential violation without undue delay, and assess and take appropriate action, which may include limiting access to or removing content (e.g., posts, images, and files) from Miro Services and suspending or terminating user accounts. In case of any action, Miro will inform the content author or account owner of the specific reason why we took action and the available redress mechanism.
In certain cases, Miro may be legally required to notify the content author to inform them of the reason for action along with information identifying the relevant violation. We will keep your identity confidential unless Miro is required by law to disclose identifying information (e.g., in cases of intellectual property rights infringement).
Miro may promptly inform relevant law enforcement or judicial authorities if we become aware of any information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offense, including a threat to the life or safety of a person.
By using any Miro Services and/or by attending any Miro events, you acknowledge these Content & Conduct Standards.
