To easily track license usage and renewals for users in your Miro Enterprise subscription, you can optionally create and assign users to a billing group.
For example, create a billing group for each department or cost center, like Design, Marketing, and Product. Then you can appropriately assign users to each group. With users mapped to their respective billing group, you simplify your process for managing licenses, tracking expenses, renewals, true-ups, and ensure effective allocation of resources and budget.

Before you create a billing group
Prerequisites
(Optional) During the create procedure, you can upload a CSV file that includes the email address for each user you want to add to the billing group.
If you choose this method, have your CSV file ready. To learn more, see How to bulk-add users to a billing group with a CSV file.
TIP: You can create a billing group without adding users. If you want to add users later, this article includes separate instructions for user assignment, and bulk assignment with bulk actions or a CSV file.
Create a billing group
The following procedure explains how to create a billing group. Repeat the procedure for as many billing groups as you need.
Follow these steps:
- In Admin console, go to Billing > Billing groups.
- In the top-right, click Create billing group.
- Name your billing group.
- (Optional) Input a billing group description.
- (Optional) To limit the number of licenses available to a billing group, set a soft quota:
- Tick to enable Add quota for full licenses.
- Input a number for the license limit.
- (Optional) To bulk-add users to the billing group, upload your CSV file.
- (Optional) Enter a user email address to assign that user as Billing group contact. The user will receive notifications about license usage.
- Click Create billing group.
TIP: To edit a billing group, go to Admin Console > Subscription > Billing groups, and select the three dots (...) for the billing group you want to edit.
Add a user to a billing group
- In Admin console, go to Users > All users.
- For the user you want to add, click the vertical three-dots.
A drop-down menu opens. - Under User management, select Active users.
- Click Change billing group.
- Select a billing group.
- Select Assign user.
Bulk-add users to a billing group
- In Admin console, go to Users > All users.
- Search and select, or filter, the users you want to add. To filter, on the right click All filters. You can filter by role, license, activity, or teams.
- To show Bulk actions, select at least one user. Or in the header row, tick Name to select all users.
- Under User management, select Active users.
- Click Bulk actions.
- Select Change billing group.
A modal opens. - Select a billing group.
- Click Assign billing group.
Bulk-add users to a billing group with a CSV file
- In Admin console, go to Billing > Billing groups.
- For the billing group you want to edit, click the vertical three-dots.
- Click Edit.
The Edit billing group view opens. - Under Users (optional) click Upload CSV file.
- Choose the CSV file that you want to upload.
- Click Open.
