Who can do it: Company admins
Which plans: Enterprise with AI Workflows add-on
Which platforms: Browser, Desktop
Company Admins can configure which AI providers and models are available and how they are used across Miro AI features, including AI workflows, Sidekicks, and content generation capabilities. This helps organizations balance AI adoption with governance, compliance, and risk management by enabling admins to restrict or allow specific AI providers based on internal policies.
Understand how settings are applied
AI provider availability is configured at the capability level. Each AI capability may support different AI providers and models, or may not support AI provider selection.
- Supported capabilities allow AI provider and model selection based on configuration.
- Capabilities may be user-selectable, admin-controlled, or not support provider availability controls.
- Unsupported capabilities continue using predefined AI providers and models.
Support for AI providers and models varies across capabilities such as Sidekicks, flows, and content generation, and may differ depending on feature maturity.
Set allowed AI providers
AI providers are configured per capability. You can enable or disable providers independently for each capability, depending on support. Changes are applied automatically.
- Go to Company settings.
- Under Miro AI, select Capabilities.
- Select the AI Providers tab.
- Enable or disable AI providers for each capability using the toggles.
NOTE: For capabilities that support AI provider selection, at least one AI provider must remain enabled. You cannot disable the last remaining provider.
Validate and roll out AI providers
Before enabling AI providers broadly, validate them in a controlled environment to ensure they meet your organization’s quality, compliance, and performance requirements.
- Start with a restricted set of AI providers.
- Enable an AI provider for a supported capability.
- Test across AI workflows, Sidekick interactions, and content generation capabilities such as docs, tables, images, and diagrams.
- Validate output quality, compliance requirements, and performance.
- Gradually expand access after validation.
Align AI provider availability with internal security and compliance policies, and monitor AI usage through analytics dashboards as adoption grows.
Limitations
- Not all AI capabilities support AI provider availability
- Some features may still use predefined AI providers and models
- Feature availability varies by capability and rollout stage
