Presentation mode is an interactive, distraction-free environment that aligns presenter and participants in a fluid, standardized view. Presenters can organize and present Frames, or use the Slides Format, and bring their audience into the focused Presentation mode.
This article describes how to present Frames in Presentation mode. For information about creating and organizing Frames, see Frames. To learn about using the Miro Slides Format, see Slides.
NOTE: This article reflects the enhanced Presentation mode that Miro is rolling out between March and April 2026. In case you do not yet have the new mode available, see the legacy Presentation mode documentation.
How to present Frames in Presentation mode
On your canvas, in the top-right click Present. Presentation mode opens and you are presenting.
Presentation mode includes controls in the bottom-left, bottom-right, and top-right.
When you open Presentation mode, a modal appears for all participants on the board to join or decline. Participants who join the presentation see exactly the same Presentation mode as the presenter.
To navigate your presentation, use your keyboard arrow keys, or in the bottom-left click the arrow buttons.
To jump between Frames, in the bottom-left click the four-square Open slides panel button. Each Frame appears on a grid, and you can select where to jump.
Go to canvas
If you want to show the Miro canvas without leaving Presentation mode, in the bottom-right click Go to canvas. To return to your Frame deck, in the bottom-right click Go to slide.
TIP: While in Presentation mode, when you go to canvas your participants can collaborate and move freely on the canvas. When you return to your presentation, participants are locked into the presentation.
Hand off control in Presentation mode
In Presentation mode, to hand off control to a co-presenter, in the top-right click Hand off. Then select a participant to give them control of the presentation.
To return control, or choose another participant to hand off control, the co-presenter follows the same steps.
End or exit a presentation
As presenter, to end your presentation in the top-right click Stop.
Participants can click Leave anytime to exit your presentation. When a participant leaves an active presentation, they return to the canvas. To rejoin from the canvas, in the top-right they click Join.
TIP: As presenter, you can immediately share your presentation in Presentation mode. For example, you want to provide access to a new participant. In the top-right, click Share.
Presenter notes
Add presenter notes to your frames for a more organized presentation. Presenter notes will appear in a separate window that's only visible to you.
There are two ways to access your presenter notes:

In Presentation mode
In the bottom-right, click Open presenter notes. -
From the board
In the bottom right-hand corner of the board, click Frames. The Frames panel opens. Click the vertical three-dots, then select Presenter notes.Access Presenter notes in the Frames panel.
Facilitation tools and reactions
From the Facilitation tools and reactions menu in Presentation mode, team members can show reactions to your presentation, and as the presenter you can access the following tools:

Participant tools in Presentation mode
As presenter, you can enable and show creation tools for participants to use during your presentation. Participant tools optionally provide the following interaction opportunities:
- Sticky note
- Shapes
- Text
- Pen
- Stickers
- Comments
To specify which participant tools to enable, in the bottom-right click Participant tools > Available tools.
TIP: In the Participant tools menu, toggle Show creation tools to reveal your selected tools only when you're ready for participant interaction. You can also toggle Show cursors.
