Comments are a great way to start discussions in any place on the board. Share your ideas and thoughts by leaving comments and mentioning collaborators.
Add comments
💡 To tag yourself in a comment, type @ followed by your name. Use this feature to assign yourself tasks and set reminders in your feed notifications.
💡 Type @ in the comment bar to see suggested mentions.
To create a comment choose Comment on the toolbar or press C hotkey. Click the spot where you would like to post it, type in your comment, @mention someone if needed, and press Enter. Comments can be attached to any widget on the board - post a comment right on the object and it will belong to this object (note: this doesn't apply to frames).

You can also create a comment by selecting the option on an object's context menu.

Or right-click the board and select Add a comment.
⚠️ Please note that comments cannot be copied or cut and pasted together with the objects they were attached to.
Comments cannot be exported.
✏️ Removing a user from a team does not automatically delete their comments on the team boards.
✏️ Use Shift + Enter to start a new line in your comment. Note that text formatting is not supported in comments.
You can also add comments to messages in notes by simply clicking the small comment icon next to the message.

Follow a thread
Never miss a reply to your comments. Once you leave a comment, reply in a thread, or are @mentioned in any comment, you will get a notification of new comments in such threads.

Stay up to date on threads you are interested in by manually following a thread or all threads on a board. Find the option to Follow all threads in the board settings.

Once your part in the discussion in a thread or on a board is completed, you can unfollow any single thread in a comment dialogue box or all existing threads and all future ones at once in the board menu - just untick the option Follow all threads.
💡 Feel free to adjust your notification preferences in the settings.
Resolve a thread
You can mark any comment thread as Resolved to hide it and focus your attention where it’s most needed:

If you want your resolved comments to be visible on the board, toggle on Show resolved in the comments panel.

Mark comments as unread to help you remember and prioritize important messages, acting as a visual reminder for tasks that still need your attention.

Click the emoji icon next to a comment to add a reaction.

Edit a comment
To edit a comment you've left in a thread, simply click it, make the necessary changes and choose Save.
Delete a comment
If you want to delete a comment from the board, click the three-dot menu and choose Delete.
✏️ If you don't see the option to delete a comment, make sure to switch to the select mode and open the comment again.

⚠️ There is no way to delete all or multiple comments from the board simultaneously.
Choose a comment color
Choose the color of the comment icon to highlight important threads for your collaborators or to specify the status of your message (for example, blue for ideas, green for discussions, etc.).

To keep a comment open for the current session, choose the option in the three-dot menu:

💡 By pinning several threads you can keep multiple comment threads open simultaneously on your board.

Show all comments in the Comments panel
Get notified about new mentions and comments right on the board and in the comments panel. This panel displays all your mentions and comments in one place and allows you to see instant notifications when someone leaves a comment or mentions you.
✏️ Click a comment on the panel to quickly jump to this comment on the board.

If you want to mark all unread comments as read, click the ... in the Comments panel and choose Mark all as read.
To hide comments on your board click the Show comments on board toggle. To show the hidden comments, click the same toggle.
💡 If you find that collaborators are commenting on your board but you're not seeing the comments, check if this setting is toggled off.

Comments 2.0 (Beta)
You may notice some updated UI changes when using comments on boards.
In our updated UI for comments, you'll find:

- Unread comments highlighted in blue for easy recognition
- Resolved comment tasks with a tick bubble
- Mention notifications with an @ sign

Comments in Miro Mobile app
By clicking a comment in the Mobile app, you will open the whole thread and will be able to leave a reply. You can also resolve the thread, start/stop following it by pressing the bell icon, and change the comment color.
