Who can do it: Team members Which plans: Free, Starter, Business, Education Which platforms: Browser, Desktop
AI Memory lets Sidekicks and Flows remember useful information about you and the way you work, from one conversation to the next. You don't have to restate your role, your projects, or how you like responses written every time you start a new chat.
You stay in control. You can ask a Sidekick to remember something, show you what it remembers, and delete one memory or all of them, all from the Sidekicks or Flows chat.
AI Memory is different from the context a Sidekick keeps within a single conversation. Within a conversation, a Sidekick keeps track of what you've discussed so far. AI Memory carries selected information into new conversations.
AI Memory is currently unavailable on Enterprise plans.

How AI Memory works
- You chat with a Sidekick or Flows. During the conversation, the Sidekick or Flow uses what you've said so far.
- Miro saves what's worth keeping. When a conversation ends, Miro looks for information that stays useful beyond that conversation and saves it as a memory. If you ask a Sidekick to remember something, it's saved right away.
- New conversations start with your memories. Miro automatically adds your memories to the start of a new Sidekick conversation, so the first response is closer to what you want.
For example, if you ask a Sidekick to always add your name and the date as a footer on documents, your next Doc, on any board, includes that footer without you asking again.
Memory focuses on information that's likely to stay true. Miro doesn't save temporary details, such as a short-term assignment.
What Miro remembers
A memory falls into one of three types:
- Work context: Who you are at work, such as your role, team, projects, and the tools you use. Sidekicks use it to know who they're helping without asking again.
- Decision facts: Choices you've already made, with the alternatives and reasons if you mentioned them, for example, "We chose Postgres over Redis because we need relational queries." Sidekicks use them so you don't revisit settled decisions.
- AI preferences: How you want a Sidekick to behave, including style, formatting, length, and what to skip.
Manage your memories
You manage memory by chatting with a Sidekick. Describe what you want in your own words. The following table shows examples.
| To do this | Try a prompt like |
|---|---|
| Save a memory | "Remember to always add a footer to the generated documents with my name and date." |
| See your memories | "What do you remember about me? Give me a bullet point per memory." |
| Delete specific memories | "Remove my memories related to the Board Gen v1 initiative." |
| Delete all memories | "Delete all you remember about me." |
When you ask a Sidekick to remember something, it saves the memory immediately. When you ask it to delete memories, it removes the ones that match your request.
Privacy, sensitive information, and retention
- Keep sensitive details out of chats you don't want remembered. Miro labels conversations by sensitivity so it can handle sensitive information differently. Memory doesn't yet automatically exclude content from boards classified as Confidential or Restricted. If you share something sensitive in a chat, ask the Sidekick to delete the related memory.
- Retention: Memories are kept in line with Miro's existing data retention policies.
For more about how Miro handles data in AI features, see Miro's Privacy Policy.
Limitations
- Memory is built from Sidekick and Flows conversations.
- Memories are saved after a conversation ends, so a detail from your current chat may not appear in a new chat started right away. Asking a Sidekick to remember something saves it immediately.
- Memories are personal. Teams and shared boards don't have shared memory.
- Memory doesn't yet automatically exclude confidential or restricted boards.
