Available for: Enterprise Plan
Content Admin permissions allow you to supervise all the content within your Enterprise subscription. As a Content Admin, you can seamlessly manage access to boards, Spaces, sections, and templates, and clean up the dashboard by deleting unused boards, Spaces, and sections.
How to assign a Content Admin role
- Navigate to your settings.
- Under Users, click on Admin roles.
- Next to the Content Admin role, click the three dots (…) and select Assign role from the dropdown menu.
- Select the user or users you wish to grant Content Admin rights to. You can select up to 50 users.
- Click the Assign button to confirm your selection.
- To view all users who have been assigned the Content Admin role, click the three dots (…) again, and select View users. Alternatively, click anywhere on the Content Admin bar to see a list of users.
To view the permissions assigned to Content Admins, click on the Content Admin bar, switch to the Privileges tab, and scroll down to see all Content permissions.
Managing boards and spaces
For detailed information on the permissions that Content Admins have on boards and spaces, see the Content Management section in the admin roles documentation.
Additionally, Content Admins can:
- open the Share dialog and manage the board sharing settings (remove and change users' access, share the board with a team/a user/company/publicly)
- change the board details (name, description, cover)
- move the board to a space
- move the board to a section
- delete the board
- download the board backup
- configure board content settings
- configure advanced board sharing permissions
- see which user created the password for a public board, and set, change or remove passwords for publicly shared boards
- restore any board from the Trash bin.
Content admins and Team content admins can move a board to another team where the board owner is a member. If the board owner is not a member of the target team, you can transfer board ownership to a member.
If you do not see a board on the dashboard, it means that the board hasn't been shared with you, but you can still find it: search in the Dashboard by the board name, the board owner, or location (team). Boards that haven't been shared with you will appear with a lock icon next to their name. To manage a board, click the three dots in the top-right corner.
When trying to open a board by a direct link or from a search result, you will get the message No access to board. At the bottom, you will see the options to view the board details and manage access permissions.
✏️ You cannot change the settings of private Spaces that you are not a member of, nor will you see them in the Spaces list. If you need to change settings of a private space, ask the space owner for access or use Miro's public APIs. You can change the settings of those Spaces that you see on the dashboard.
Managing templates
You can change your template sharing settings (personal, team or company), edit the template details (name, description and cover image), or delete a template entirely.
How to manage custom templates
- Go to your dashboard and click on Explore templates in the upper right.
- Go to Custom Templates in the left-hand navigation and click your [Company name] templates or Personal.
- Hover over the template you'd like to edit and click the three dots (...).
- To delete the template, click Delete.
- To manage other template details, click Edit.
- The board will open. Click on the template name in the board menu.
- Add or edit the Template name and Description, Select preview area for the cover image, and change the sharing settings to Personal, Team or Company.
- Click Save changes.
