Miro customers may require data residency outside their current region. Outside the European Union (EU), Miro offers data residency in Australia (AU) and the United States (US).
Options for moving data between regions
The process for moving data residency is called cross-region migration. To migrate your organization to a new region, Miro offers the following paths:
-
Manual export and import
Miro Support provisions a new organization in the new region. Company Admin reconfigures all org and team settings and re-invites users. End users manually download their Miro boards from the old region and upload them into the new region. To learn more, see Move data between regions – Manual export and import. -
Automated data migration
Available as a paid engagement with Miro services. Automates the migration of the full organization, including all organization content, content hierarchy, users, and settings. To learn more, see Moving data between regions – Automated migration.✏️ Automated data migration is not currently available for EKM enterprises.
To decide which migration path is best for you, reach out to your dedicated Miro contact person, or email support@miro.com.
