User experience
- The custom Terms of Service dialog can appear when users log in, refresh the page, or switch between organizations.
- The dialog is non-dismissible – users can only:
- Accept and continue
- Sign out of Miro
- Users are not prompted again until the recurrence window ends or terms are updated.
Creating custom terms of service
- Go to Settings > Enterprise Guard > Custom Terms of Service.
- Click Create new and enter:
- Title
- Description
- Terms link (externally hosted)
- Optional link text (custom anchor, e.g., "Read our usage policy")
- Preview the dialog before publishing.
- Click Publish.
✏️ Notes:
- Only one active ToS can exist at a time.
- Guests and external users are excluded.
- Recurrence is fixed to 7 days (not configurable).
- Miro does not store the terms—only the external link and metadata.
Editing custom terms of service
- Click Edit to change the title, description, link, or anchor text.
- Choose:
- Publish now – resets all user acceptances immediately
- Next cycle – users are prompted again after their 7-day cycle ends
✏️ Changes will not appear to users until published.
Deleting custom terms of service
Click Delete to remove the active terms. Once deleted, the terms are no longer enforced until a new one is created and published.
✏️ Deletion disables enforcement. You'll need to recreate and publish new terms to resume prompting users.
