The Ask AI feature lets you ask questions about your backlog, features, and customer feedback using natural language. The AI analyzes your data and provides insights to help with prioritization and decision-making.
How it works
Ask AI is powered by your backlog data, so ensure your information is up to date for the best insights. The AI can help you understand patterns, prioritize features, and make data-driven product decisions.
Asking questions
- Navigate to the Ask AI section from the left sidebar.
- Type your question in the text field. For example: "What are the top requested features?"
- Press Enter.
- Review the AI-generated response and supporting data.
Understanding results
When you receive AI responses:
- Company and feature names in results are clickable links that show more details.
- Side panel context displays the full content of the item.
- External links in a side panel let you jump to original records in your connected systems.
- AI suggestions are highlighted in magenta throughout the interface.
Follow-up questions
You can ask follow-up questions to dive deeper into specific areas. This conversational approach helps you explore your data from multiple angles:

- Initial question: "What are the top requested features?"
- Follow-up: "Which of these features have the highest ARR impact?"
- Further exploration: "Which companies are asking for the highest ARR feature?"

Tips for better results
- Be specific: Instead of "Tell me about feedback," try "What are the main complaints about our mobile app?"
- Include context: Mention timeframes, customer segments, or feature areas when relevant.
- Ask follow-ups: Build on previous answers to get more detailed insights.
- Check data recency: Ensure your backlog is current for the most accurate AI recommendations.
Sharing results
You can share the results with your team by copying a chat link. This allows for easy collaboration and discussion around the findings.
To share a result:
- Select Share at the top right of the screen.
✏️ Sharing a link requires the recipient to have access to the same Miro Insights organization.
Access from canvas
Ask AI is also available directly on your Miro boards through the Insights side panel. This allows you to get AI-powered insights during collaborative sessions without leaving your canvas workspace. Perfect for real-time analysis during meetings where you can discuss and capture results directly on the board.
