When you are assigned to an item using the Assignee field, you receive an email and in-product feed notification. To reduce inbox noise, email notifications are batched and sent every few minutes. If you are assigned to multiple items in a short period, you get one email listing all new assignments instead of a separate email for each.
Each email includes:
- The board and table name
- The item(s) you were assigned to
- A link to open the item or table
Notification triggers
- You are assigned to an item using the Assignee field.
- You are assigned on a synced copy of a table; the notification links to the board where the assignment happened.
What does not trigger an email
- You are removed from the assignee column.
- An item you are already assigned to is updated.
Requirements
You must have access to the board where the assignment was made. You will not receive notifications on boards you do not have access to.
If a table has synced copies across multiple boards, the notification links to the board where the assignment happened, not the home board of the table.
TIP: (Beta) You can also receive daily notifications for Table items with end dates due the next day. You must have access to each board and Table where you are an assignee. To learn more, see Table notifications.
Manage notification preferences
- Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings > Notifications.
- Toggle Assignment notifications on or off.
