You can now create diagrams from Mermaid code and edit them as native Miro shapes and connectors. Mermaid stays the source of truth, so you can move diagrams between Miro, your codebase, and AI tools without losing structure.
- Paste, drop, or generate. Paste Mermaid code onto a board, drag a .mmd or .mermaid file onto the canvas, or generate diagrams with Sidekicks, Flows, or Miro MCP.
- Bi-directional editing. Change the diagram visually on the board and the Mermaid code updates; edit the code and the diagram re-renders. Shape-to-code highlighting, syntax highlighting, and on-canvas error feedback make debugging easier.
- Richer visual editing. In focus mode, add shapes from the shapes panel or with the + button, drag to connect or reconnect shapes, and use the layout panel to set direction, spacing, shape width, and text wrapping.
- More diagram types and shapes. Flowchart, state, sequence, class, and ER diagrams render as native Miro shapes; flowcharts are visually editable. Miro supports all Mermaid v10 and v11 flowchart shapes, so pasted code keeps its intended shape types.
