Facilitate your meetings and workshops in Miro faster, easier, smoother with the Miro add-on for Google Calendar! Now you can easily attach Miro boards to your Google events and share the boards with your meeting participants with just a few clicks.
You can use either the Google Workspace add-on or the Chrome extension to attach Miro boards to your Calendar events. For the best experience, we recommend using the Miro for Google Calendar add-on as this is part of the Google Workspace experience and makes collaboration with Miro and Google Workspace more seamless, all in one place.
✏️ Only meeting facilitators need to install the add-on or the extension.

Authorizing Miro access to your Google account
Google Workspace admins can pre-install certain add-ons for their domain users and also allow/block certain add-ons within their domain. If the admin did not block the Miro add-on, all users should be able to install/uninstall it to their liking by default. Whereas if the admin pre-installs the add-on for the entire domain nobody needs to install it in the first place, as it will be pre-installed.
Attach Miro boards to Google Calendar events
Once the add-on is configured for your Calendar, you can add Miro boards as attachments to Google meetings. When creating a new event or editing an existing one, click Attachments and choose Miro on the drop-down menu, click Choose or create a board on the next pop-up.
Attaching Miro boards to Google events
On the Miro picker, select a board or create a new one. You can select any of the boards that you have access to on your Miro dashboard. To create a new board, click the blue plus button.
Selecting a board on the picker
Having selected/created the board, you can share it with your meeting participants if you have this permission on the Miro side and if your plan allows doing this. Set the access rights of your meeting attendees by choosing an option under the Anyone the organizer invites to the event line. You can allow your meeting participants to view/comment/edit the board. If you are not allowed to share the board, you will see the corresponding message on the pop-up.
Sharing the board with meetings participants
If you share a board on Free plan, the board will not be shared if some of the meeting invitees are not part of the team where the board belongs.
On Starter and Education plan, the board will not be shared if you share it for editing and some of the meeting invitees are not part of the team where the board belongs.
On Business and Enterprise plans, the board will not be shared if some of the meeting invitees are not part of the team where the board belongs and guests are not allowed in the team invitation settings. If the guest role is allowed, those invitees who are not part of the team will be invited to the board as guests.
Add multiple boards and remove attached boards
To add multiple boards to a meeting, add another attachment to the meeting, choose Miro on the drop-down menu, and select/create a board as shown above.
To remove a board from the event, simply click the cross icon and remove the attachment. Please note that those meeting participants who have been invited to the board when you attached and shared it will not be removed from the board automatically.

Once you hit Save, all meeting participants will be automatically invited to the board and will get email invitations (if it is allowed in their notification settings). Please note, if an invitee is not a member of your team, they won't be added to the board. Please make sure that all meeting participants already take seats in your team.
If you don't wish to change the existing board sharing settings, choose As in sharing settings.
Choosing board access settings for meeting participants
✏️ Please note that access of previously invited board users will not be degraded.
Users that will be added to the meeting later on will also get invitations to the attached board (if they are a part of the team). All meeting guests get access to the board if this is configured in the board access settings in Google Calendar.
Users removed from the meeting will not be removed from the attached board. Please change their access level on the Miro's side.
