General billing information
Adding or removing licenses: Each team member needs a license, and billing is based on the total number of licenses, not team members. As you adjust your team size, the number of licenses may not always match the number of members. Charges for adding or removing licenses are prorated, ensuring you pay only for the time used.
For detailed explanations on how these prorated amounts are calculated, review our guide on monthly and yearly billing.
For a detailed breakdown of how prorated charges appear on your bill, explore our article Understanding your invoice.
No charge for Visitors or Guests: Sharing boards with Visitors or Guests does not cost extra.
Credit card billing: Your card is billed at the end of your subscription cycle. To avoid charges, cancel beforehand.
Payment issues: Should payment fail, we'll retry after 7 and 14 days. After day 14, your plan becomes view-only until resolved.

Monthly and yearly billing
Monthly billing
You're billed for your plan each month on the date you originally signed up.
Example: If you started your plan on September 10, 2020, you'll be billed on the 10th of every month.
When you add licenses beyond what your current plan includes, your next monthly bill will include:
- The monthly renewal fee for your plan.
- An additional charge for each new license, calculated from the date the license is added.
If you remove a license, you'll receive an adjustment on your next bill for the unused portion of that license. Your next monthly bill will include:
- The monthly renewal fee for your plan.
- An adjusted charge for the removed license.
Example: If your plan renews on October 1, you add an extra license on September 15 and remove it on September 20 at a rate of $10 per month. Your charge will be $1.67, calculated as $10 divided by 30 days, multiplied by 5 days (September 15-20).
Yearly billing
You're billed for your plan once a year. If you add extra licenses during the year, you'll receive a bill for these the following month.
Example: If you add licenses in March, you'll receive a bill for these in April.
If you add more licenses than the number included in your current yearly plan, you'll only be billed for the new licenses for the time left until your yearly renewal.
You'll receive a bill the following month that includes the extra charge for each additional license, starting from the date they're added.
Example: If your yearly plan begins on August 17, 2022, and you add a license on September 2, 2022, at a rate of $96 per year, you'll be billed $91.79 on September 17 for the extra license. This charge covers the period from September 2, 2022, to August 17, 2023, which is 349 days, calculated as $96 divided by 365 days, multiplied by 349 days.
Credit: If you remove a license from your yearly plan, you'll receive a credit for the time that license will not be used. This credit will be applied to your next billing cycle.
Example: If your yearly plan started on August 17, 2022, and you remove a license on September 30, 2022, at a rate of $96 per year, you will receive a credit for the unused time until August 17, 2023. The credit amount will be $96 divided by 365, multiplied by the total number of unused days.
Adjustments: If you add and then remove a license within the same billing cycle, you will first receive an adjusted invoice for the period the license was active. If you remove the license before the next billing cycle, you will receive a credit for the unused portion.
Example: Your yearly plan started on August 17, 2022. You add a license on September 2, 2022, at a rate of $96 per year, and then remove it on September 30, 2022. You will first get a bill on September 17, 2022 for the time the license was active. Later you will receive a credit for the unused time from September 30, 2022 to August 17, 2023. Subscription renewal Your yearly renewal date remains the same regardless of adding or removing licenses. If you cancel, charges for any additional licenses up to the cancellation are applied immediately.
⚠️ If you have an outstanding balance due to an increase in licenses, they will be outlined in a separate invoice, and charged together with the next renewal or upgrade.
