During April 2026, Miro Engage becomes a paid add-on for Enterprise, Business, and Starter plans. This article explains what’s changing and what to expect when the add-on goes live.

What’s changing?

In April 2026:

Enterprise, Business and Starter plans will need to purchase the Miro Engage Add-on to continue using advanced Miro Engage features (listed below)
Free and Education plans will no longer have access to Engage features. The add-on is only available to purchase on Enterprise, Business, and Starter Plans.

Purchasing the Miro Engage Add-on gives your team full access to all Engage features. The add-on will be billed with your existing paid plan and renewed automatically.

If you’ve used Miro Engage features during the beta, we’ll notify you in Miro and by email when the add-on becomes available for your workspace. Until then, you can continue using all features for free.

FAQ

Will I lose access to my Engage?

Yes, once the free beta period ends, you will lose access to Engage features unless your organization has purchased the add-on. Without an active subscription, you will be unable to add new activities, reset or edit existing ones, or export results. Any activities already placed on your boards will become closed and view-only, meaning results remain visible as artifacts, but they cannot be responded to or accessed via mobile.

Who can purchase and manage the add-on?

For Starter and Business plans, Org Admins and Billing Admins can manage the add-on through their Billing settings.

On Enterprise plans, purchase is handled through Account Managers. Admins or members can submit an in-product handraiser form to contact Sales; once the deal is finalized in Salesforce, the add-on is automatically provisioned in your Admin panel.

Can guests or viewers use Engage?

Yes, for participation. Anyone—including guests, visitors, and people without a Miro account—can join an activity in seconds by scanning a QR code from their mobile device. However, the ability to facilitate (creating, editing, or starting activities) is limited to licensed members. Guests and visitors can only participate in activities already placed on a board if they have the appropriate board-level access permissions.

Why can’t I purchase the add-on on a Free or Education plan?

The add-on is only possible to add to an existing Enterprise, Business or Starter Plan paid subscription to extend the functionality. Free and Education users must upgrade to a paid plan first before purchasing the add-on.

Does canceling my Enterprise, Business or Starter subscription also cancel the Miro Engage Add-on?

Yes, as you need a paid subscription in order to purchase Miro Engage Add-On.
