Miro Grid allows you to simply organize your board content quickly and efficiently.

How to access Grids
- Go to the Creation toolbar on the left side of your board.
- Click the Tools, Media and Integrations icon () and search for Grid.
- Open the Grid app. You can also click and drag the Grid app to your Creation toolbar for quick access.
To add a Grid to your board, click on the Grid icon in the creation toolbar, then click the desired location on the board.
You can select the size of your Grid directly from the toolbar. The maximum number of cells per Grid is 2,500.

- Click once to select the entire Grid.
- Click a second time to select a single cell, or click and drag to select multiple cells.
- Click a third time to edit the text within a cell, or double-click a cell to edit it.

Moving or resizing Grids
To move the Grid, click once to select it and then drag it around the board.
To resize the Grid, click to select it and then drag a corner.

Add content
To add content like a sticky note, shape, card, or image to a Grid, drag it over the Grid. The cells will auto-resize to fit the content.
It's not possible to add other Grids inside a Grid.
Adding content to the Grid
The auto-resize feature is turned on by default. To turn it off click Cell resize > Manual from the context menu or press Ctrl/Cmd while dragging objects onto the Grid. To turn it on again, click Cell resize > Auto.
⚠️ Content within Grids cannot be locked or grouped. The align objects button and the auto-layout option are not available within Grids.
Columns and rows
✏️ If you're unable to select a column, row, or cell, turn on select mode and try zooming in, as many small cells cannot be edited at a high zoom levels.
To add columns or rows, you can:
- Click the add column or add row icon on the context menu.
- Use the plus icons () on the right or bottom sides of the Grid.
- Click the plus icon next to the three dots that appear next to a column or row.
Drag and drop the three dots to reposition columns and rows in your Grid.
Moving a row up
Customizing colors and sizes
To change the color of a column, row, or cell, click the three dots adjacent to that row or column and choose the color from the dropdown menu.
You can change the color of a cell, row, column, or the whole Grid.
To adjust the width of a column or row, click and drag its border. Make sure select mode is turned on.
Adjusting the size of a row
To resize all rows or columns together, select the entire Grid and drag the borders.
To delete a column or a row, click the three dots adjacent to it, then click the trash icon on the context menu.
Merging cells
To merge cells, select them and choose Merge cells on the context menu. Cells can be unmerged at any time.

Working with text
To add text, double click in a cell and start typing. To change existing text, double-click the cell. You can adjust the size, color, and alignment of the text, and create bulleted lists.
To add vertical text to Grids, choose the vertical text position on the context menu.

You can change the text formatting of the whole Grid, or a full row or column.
✏️ Every cell has a limit of 6,000 symbols. The limit includes spaces and all style changes in code, so text formatting may decrease the number of symbols you can input.
✏️ To insert a link into the text, select the text and press Ctrl + V (for Windows) or Cmd + V (for Mac).

- Ctrl + B (for Windows) or Cmd + B (for Mac) to make text bold
- Ctrl + I (for Windows) or Cmd + I (for Mac) to make text italic
- Ctrl + U (for Windows) or Cmd + U (for Mac) to underline text
- Arrows to move between cells (for Mac)
Importing from Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets
To import content from a spreadsheet to a Miro board:
- Copy cells from the spreadsheet.
- Open your board and press Ctrl + V (for Windows) or Cmd + V (for Mac).
- You can paste the content as sticky notes or as a Grid. Select Paste as Grid. When copying tables with more than 2,500 cells, columns will be given priority over rows.
You can also copy cells in your spreadsheet, select a cell in your existing Miro Grid, and press Ctrl + V (for Windows) or Cmd + V (for Mac). The content from the spreadsheet will be copied to the Grid.
Exporting your Grid
Export Grids as a CSV file via the context menu. You can also export Grids as images or PDFs. Learn more about our export options.
