What are standalone vs board-pinned Sidekicks?
If you are unsure whether to submit a standalone Sidekick or a companion, board-pinned Sidekick with a board template, ask yourself: Does the Sidekick rely on a specific board layout, visual framework, or workflow to guide users effectively?
- If yes: Pin your Sidekick to a companion board and submit the board template.
- If no: Submit a standalone Sidekick.
For more help deciding whether to submit a standalone or board-pinned Sidekick, consider the following advantages unique to each type of Sidekick:
-
Standalone Sidekick
- Works on any existing or new board
- Acts as a coach, guide, or specialist in different contexts, like a workshop designer, or consultant, for example

-
Board-pinned Sidekick
- Teaches or walks-through a specific method or template
