Manage boards in the Trash view (Beta)

The Trash view lists boards that have been moved to trash, either by users or by automated processes, such as disposition or trash policies. Use this view to see what's scheduled for permanent deletion and, if your admin role allows it, to restore a board or delete it permanently. For each board, the list shows identifying information along with when it was trashed and how long it has left. In this view you can:

• Search and filter boards, then open any board to view its details in a single panel.
• Review when a board was moved to trash, who moved it, and how much time it has left before it's deleted.
• Restore a board to its original owner and team.
• Delete a board permanently.

NOTE:

• The information, filters, and actions available to you depend on which admin role you have, and some information requires the Enterprise Guard add-on. For more information on the roles and permissions required to perform tasks in this view, see Admin roles and privileges in Content Explorer (Beta).
• Whether you can restore or permanently delete a specific board may also be affected by your permissions for that board.
• Content might be shortened to fit more board information into the list. Hover over a value to see it in full. Some columns also have a question mark icon that explains what they show.

Search, filter, and sort

• Search: Search by board name or board ID using the search bar above the tabs. Your search applies to all four Content Explorer views at once, and each tab shows how many boards match.
• Quick filters: The filter row above the list gives you fast access to common filters, such as boards trashed recently or boards about to be deleted.
• All filters: Click Filters to open a panel with the complete set of filters for this view, grouped by category. The panel includes filters that aren't in the quick filter row, such as who trashed a board. Filters you set in the panel also appear in the quick filter row, and the other way around. Click Clear filters to remove all filters at once.
• Sort by: Change the sort order, ascending or descending. This view sorts by time left in trash by default, so the boards closest to permanent deletion appear first.

The number of boards matching your search and filters appears above the list. Your search, filter, and sort selections are saved in the page URL, so they persist if you refresh the page.

Board details

Click a board row to open a slide-out panel with more information about that board, such as when it was moved to trash and by whom, how much time it has left in trash, and who owns it.

To work with the panel:

• Click the chevron next to the board's classification at the top of the panel to show or hide a summary row with the board's owner, team, space, and key dates.
• Hover over an item to see any additional actions it offers. For example, you can copy a user's email address, or open the team that owns the board.
• To close the panel, click the close icon or press Esc.

Boards under retention

If a retention policy applies to the board, the panel shows a note reading This board is under retention. Click Show retention details to see the board's lifecycle information without leaving the Trash view, including its current state, the date it's retained until, and which policies apply.

If more than one policy applies, each one is listed, along with the one that's currently in effect. For more information, see Review board lifecycle, retention, and disposition (Beta).

Restore a board

To restore a board from trash, perform the following steps:

1. In the Trash view, click the board that you want to restore.
2. In the board details panel, click Restore.
3. In the confirmation dialog, click Restore board.

The board is restored to its original owner and team. It's removed from the Trash view and appears in the Available view again.

Delete a board permanently

To delete a board permanently, perform the following steps:

1. In the Trash view, click the board that you want to delete.
2. In the board details panel, click Delete permanently.
3. In the confirmation dialog, select the Delete permanently checkbox to confirm that you understand the board can't be recovered.
4. Click Delete permanently.

NOTE: Once you delete a board permanently, it can't be restored.
