Who can do it: Billing admins, Company admins
Which plans: Free, Starter, Business
Which platforms: Browser, Desktop, Mobile
Miro plans provide flexibility, allowing you to adjust your subscription by upgrading or downgrading at any time to better align with your current requirements.
Downgrading your plan means moving to a subscription tier with a different set of features and a lower cost, which can be beneficial if your team's needs have changed or if you require fewer advanced functionalities.
This article explains how to downgrade your plan. To learn about the implications of downgrading your plan, see Downgrade your plan reference.
✏️ Only Admins or Billing Admins can initiate a plan downgrade. The process involves canceling your current subscription and then selecting a lower-tier plan once the current subscription period expires.
Key implications of downgrading
Understanding the implications of a downgrade is important for a smooth transition.
-
Feature Access
Downgrading will change the features available to you and your team. For example, access to custom templates or the number of active boards may be reduced. -
Data Retention
While Miro aims to preserve your data, some content might become view-only or locked depending on the plan you downgrade to (e.g., private boards on a Free Plan). -
Billing Adjustments
Your billing will be adjusted according to the new plan's rate. Any outstanding payments for additional licenses may be charged upon cancellation of the higher-tier plan. -
Team Structure
If downgrading involves plans with different team structures (e.g., from a multi-team Business Plan), teams might be merged.
