Here at Miro, we believe you should have the opportunity to explore our platform and its core functionality without any time restrictions. That means you’ll never get locked out of your content or account using a Free plan.
We think of the Free plan as a sandbox. It allows our users to get a feel of Miro and the value it can bring. As teams grow and accumulate more content, it makes sense to many teams to switch to one of the paid plans to
- get unlimited editable boards,
- have full control over boards sharing settings,
- take advantage of our premium features to help your team get work done in most visual, collaborative, and engaging ways possible.
Price scales with both the usage (number of team members) and added functionality. Each plan unlocks a different set of features that help your team to work together more efficiently. All paid plans require purchasing a seat for every permanent team member.
How do I know which plan to pick?
Miro is a hub for you, or your team, where you can visualize, share, and collect ideas. You can use Miro Free Plan as long as you want, with as many people as you need! We do not limit the number of team members because we believe in teamwork and want to provide the best experience for you to collaborate without any boundaries. All invited users are automatically added to your team and get access to all boards (no private boards available).
Team plan is the most popular paid plan among teams up to 50 users, with the lowest price per team member. There is a minimum of 2 seats (licenses) required to purchase the Team plan. Every team member requires a seat in your team. To understand how many seats you need, think about team members you collaborate with regularly in Miro: it makes sense to buy them a seat. You will be able to invite Occasional editors as Guest editors after you upgrade. When upgrading from the Free plan, you will see the price for all of your Miro team members. To purchase Miro licenses for fewer team members, please delete extra members that you aren’t ready to pay for yet. You will be able to expand your team size seat by seat as your team grows. You can choose between a monthly or yearly subscription (the latter will save you 20%).

Business plan is a perfect solution for fast-growing teams that need to be compliant with internal security policies and require Single sign-on.

Consultant plan can be used by freelancers and consultants. The major difference from Team and Business Plans is a multi-team setup that provides a separate workspace for each client and guarantees privacy between the projects.

Enterprise plan is for teams that are looking to scale collaboration and roll out Miro company-wide across several departments or teams. It allows companies to centrally manage Miro access while offering the most flexibility and customization based on security and privacy compliance, user management, sharing/discovery settings, and more. Who do I pay for in Miro?
When paying for Miro, you are charged per team member in your account. Every paid member requires a paid seat (license) and has full rights needed to create Miro boards, as well as to add and edit the content on them. Read more on the role here. If you share your board with people outside your team, they may view and comment for free, while editing is available either with public link enabled, or via paid Day Passes in Consultant and Business plans with full one-day Editor access. Members do not equal users: users are everybody with access to boards with any type of permissions, while a member is someone you pay a monthly fee for every billing cycle.
We recommend purchasing licenses for those people who you are planning to continue collaborating with on a regular basis after the workshop, or for a series of workshops and trainings.
If you are a freelancer/consultant working with multiple clients on a regular basis, we also recommend purchasing licenses for them as part of our Consultant Plan offering and creating a separate team for each client. You will have access to all of their boards and content, while they will only access boards that are part of their secure workspace.
How is the Free plan different from the paid plans?
The Free plan is like an open floor plan: you can invite everyone to work together for free and see everyone’s work. The main differences between the Free and the rest of the paid plans are:
- the number of editable boards
- the number of team members
- sharing settings.
You can create as many boards as you need on the Free Plan. However, after your team created three boards, each new board makes the earliest created board view-only. On all paid plans you can create as many editable boards as you need.
You can invite as many team members as you need for free. They will all be added to your team as Editors by default. On all paid plans adding each team member means buying a Miro license for them.
Free Plan offers basic sharing settings. The only option available is sharing all of your boards with all of your team members for editing. It is possible to control who you share your boards with (all of your team members, some of your team members, or none of your team members) on all paid plans. You can also make the board public and share it for viewing, commenting, or editing with people outside your Miro team.

2. I want to organize a workshop/training session. Do I need to purchase a Miro license for everyone?
- No, you don’t. Depending on the plan and your specific use case, there are a few options for a workshop/training session:
- Invite everyone as Editors to your Miro team for free on the Free plan. All of the newly invited team members will have full editing rights to all of your boards. You can remove team members from your account at any time.
- Simple and free way to invite non-team members to a remote meeting is the Guest editors option. Enable sharing via a public link in your account, and share the link with workshop participants. They will be able to edit the board that you shared with them without the need to sign in or sign up for Miro. It is the best way to invite collaborators for a one-off training session or workshop. This feature is available on all paid plans and Education plan.
- Purchase Day Passes ($3 / each) to invite workshop participants as temporary team members for 24 hours. This is the best way to invite temporary team members. This feature is available on Business, Consultant, and Enterprise Plans.
3. I'm an individual worker. What plan is best for me?
- Consultant plan doesn't have requirements on the minimum number of seats and can be purchased with 1 license. If you can't select 1 member on the purchase window, either remove your team members or create a new paid account.
4. I purchased a subscription but I'm still limited to free features. What do I do?
- Please switch to your paid team on the left sidebar of your dashboard.
5. How do I learn which plan I'm currently on?
- Go to Account settings by clicking the account name on the dashboard and check your plan in Team/Company profile.
